1190°C Crystalline Green

1190°C Crystalline Green
Cone 6 / 1190ºC
Oxidation atmosphere
A microcrystalline green glaze with an interesting surface and nice movement. This glaze is matte and opaque where it is thin and it becomes glossy and slightly transparent where it is thick which creates a subtle sense of depth. This is a stable glaze with medium fluidity when it is fired to 1190°C.
The images show the glaze applied over a slightly speckled stoneware fired to 1190°C in an oxidation atmosphere and cooled slowly. Results may vary slightly depending on the kiln, the chemical composition of raw materials, and the type of stoneware.
